Evan -
My name is Evan I started the school a few years ago. I previously spent 13 years working in psychiatry, with people who have had breakdowns and suffer with bad nerves.
I soon realised when I started in this business, that nerves and fear play a big part in slowing the learning process down. I now use the experience I gained from psychiatry to help when I am teaching pupils to drive, no matter how nervous a person is, there is always a method that will make things that little bit easier to learn a new skill.
I wanted to make sure that the instructors in Elm Driving Academy are of a suitably friendly and approachable disposition, coupled with a professional commitment to pupil needs and structured teaching.
I personally love teaching people to drive, and the pleasure I get reminding them of their first lesson, the day they pass their test, is one that never wanes.
Driving is a skill for life, and you need someone who will go through things step by step with you, in a patient and thorough manner. I am able to do this with the help of the many diagrams I have at my disposal, coupled with simple clear explanations, and plenty of in car practice.
I don’t want you to just pass your test I want you to be a confident and careful driver, who can face the challenges modern roads present.
I teach in a Vauxhall Corsa CDTI which all my pupils seem to love driving. I do look forward to seeing you soon.

My Aim is to teach you the skills you need to get you through your driving test and more importantly become a safe driver. This will be taught at a suitable pace for your needs recapping on anything on which you have doubts, until you are confident that you can drive safely to a high standard. I have been a Driving Instructor for several years and it gives me great pleasure seeing people succeed at what is an important asset to their life style.
